Tips for Storing Your Boat Off-Season
Keeping your boat in good condition means a little prep work goes a long way. Here are a few helpful tips before you store:
- 1Drain & Dry Everything
Remove any water from the bilge, live wells, and lines. Moisture left behind can lead to mold and mildew. - 2Cover Tightly
Use a boat cover or tarp secured with straps to shield your boat from UV rays, dirt, and debris. - 3Remove Valuables
Take out electronics, coolers, and anything temperature-sensitive or valuable. - 4Cover Your Boat
Boats being stored should always have a cover on them. This will protect the vessel from any precipitation, debris, and other issues that could ruin the paint, seals, carpeting, etc.If you want to take the protection for your boat to the next level, consider our shrink wrapping services if you store with us. This is the best way to protect your boat from the harmful effects of the sun, wind, rain, and snow.
- 5Disconnect the Battery
Unless your boat is stored in a unit with electrical access, disconnect the battery to prevent drain. - 6Perform Routine Maintenance
Top off fluids, inspect the trailer, and check tires before storage. You’ll thank yourself later.
